Public Notification - Stormwater Inlets
Tuesday, October 3, 2017

The following is a public notification of an issue which was presented to the West Brandywine Township Board of Supervisors during their regular meeting held September 21, 2017.  A report from the Public Works Department included a topic related to degrading municipal stormwater infrastructure which needs our attention.  Numerous stormwater inlets in our community streets need some repair.  You may or may not have noticed this issue with some of the inlets near your home, but over time and due to settling these inlet structures may be shifting and need some attention to return them to proper function.  Currently, the Public Works Department is conducting a survey to prioritize a maintenance/repair schedule to rehab the worst-case features first.  It appears that this will be an on-going effort for some time given the number of inlets in our community.  The following is an example of an inlet in need of repair and one recently rehabilitated:

If you have observed street inlets in similar condition, let us know.  We ask for your patience, as we advance our efforts to fix these situations as the schedule and budget allows.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
